This I Believe

Mom set this tradition within my family. Maybe because she was frugal, but nonetheless, the idea stuck to me and I have, do, and will continue to follow the tradition. I will stick to that tradition because I believe that it is better to buy one large ice cream and share than buy two smaller ice creams.
Mom never allowed me nor my brother to buy separate ice cream. And my brother and I had different taste buds, So when it came time to decide on which flavor, one of us would end up trying a new flavor. Sure we didn’t like this compromise, but it dared us to try something new for a change, and compromise with others. I never like sherbet, but hey, any ice cream is way better than no ice cream at all. So when my brother chose blueberry, rainbow sherbet, or cool time mint, it was time for me to be a bit daring. And I’ll admit, I don’t like those flavors even today, but at least I got to taste those flavors and know that the day I die, that I always hated sherbet.
And if you have a new friend, ask them to share an ice cream with you. It’s an opportunity to build human relations and learn more about others. It gives both you and them an opportunity to speak up, share more about you and themselves. Explain why you don’t like certain flavors, but you like others. Ask if they would like to eat out of a waffle cone. IF they said yes, they’re either daring, immature, or well off financially. If they said no, they’re either frugal, secure, or watching their carb intake. Sure you may be only talking about food, but food is a large part of our lives. I hope.
Sharing an ice cream takes a lot of guts, especially when you wanted rocky road instead of mint chocolate chip. But ice cream helps bring people together. (I mean literally) IF two people have separate ice creams, who knows how far they could be away from each other and share in a conversation. They might even be on their phones calling each other. But when you share an ice cream, you have to stay close. Either sit next to them, or across from them. What a way to connect with those that you haven’t seen in a long time, or sharing with the ones you love. So maybe next time you’re with your boyfriend or girlfriend, why not share an ice cream? It’ll bring you closer together. Literally…
So when $1 single scoops come around the corner, ask if they’ll share. Or if you’re daring, share with a complete stranger in line. It’s a chance to try new flavors, cones, and even people. I believe in sharing a large ice cream. Because you can’t know everyone in this world, but you can definitely know someone better one shared ice cream at a time.

Applications

UC apps are done as of Nov 29th for me.
I spent 4 hours of my life pressing the refresh button on the computer
to get the uc application website to work. I have admit though, it was pretty funny.
I was laughing, and my parents were pissed because they were scared that i couldn't
submit my application. I sent in both UC apps and USC application as of this weekend, and my life got a bit lighter, minus the SAT's this saturday and the ACT's
the saturday thereafter. What a great life! Honestly, Senior year is not that frustrating to me as it is to most people, or what others have claimed in the past. It's a cool time, because as you're writing up applications and essays, you get to see a bit more about yourself, what you have accomplished, and how much money your parents REALLY make (i was like, wow. how do we survive. damn).

I got some high goals for me this year. I'm planning to send out my applications out to some ivy leagues for the hell of it. Since i can apply for free, why not. Whatever i can this year, i'll probably do. I don't get another chance to apply for undergrad, unless if i fail out of college early, so why not (minus the work to ask for more recommendation letters).

Senior year is as most people call it "Easy!" My grades are the best they've ever been, which to me is wtf!! I should have gotten these grades years ago. I have little hw compared to Ap Chem, so life is a lot better now. Made a couple of friends this year, and made a "lover" this year. rofl.

I'll talk some later time.

Thanks for reading. Pray for others, me, and urselfs.
